Harold Hawthorne Community Centre is a not-for-profit organisation based in Carlisle. Our vibrant Centre provides care to people living in their own homes. We are dedicated to assisting seniors to continue to live independently and with dignity within their community.
We are seeking a Kitchen Hand to assist the Head Cook and Assistant Cook to ensure meals are prepared, packaged and ready on time and to maintain kitchen hygiene and cleanliness.
Hours of Work
11 hours per week, plus additional hours to cover staff taking leave (up to 38 hours per week). Regular shifts are 11.00am to 2.00pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 9.00am to 2.30pm on Fridays.
Please note that no weekend or evening work is available.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- The ability to use and clean general kitchen equipment,
- Basic experience in food preparation and presentation,
- Communication and interpersonal skills,
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a team
- Organisational and time management skills,
- The ability to learn and adhere to Food Safety Standards and Work Health and Safety
- No limitations on working hours (i.e. applicants on Student Visas may not be suitable)
- National Police Certificate, or ability to obtain one.
