Scope of work:
We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Kitchen Hand / Chef Assistant to join our team on a permanent, full-time Fly-in-Fly-out basis. Ideally, you will be a qualified Chef as there will be occasions when you will be required to run the service, along with:
- Maintaining Quality and hygiene standards to Food safe standards
- Following systems set in place to maintain continuous improvement of the camp;
- Using cleaning products in a safe manner as outlined in the SDS;
- Maintaining kitchen hygiene;
- Ensuring stock is restocked, labelled, rotated, and used to minimise food wastage.
- Preparing food to Chef’s instructions.
- Peeling and cutting vegetables.
- Work as team member with Chef on duty.
Requirements:
- Australian Trade Certification or Cert III in Commercial Cookery (desired).
- 2 years Chef experience (desired).
- Experience in a mining village operation preferred.
- Strong food safety and HACCP knowledge.
- Good time management skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Able to work a flexible FIFO roster.
- Police Clearance or willing to obtain one.
- Medically fit to pass Pre-employment medical.
