The Role
The primary role of the Kitchen Hand is to assist the Head Chef in preparing 5 meals a day for up to 112 children and be in the day-to-day operation of the centre's kitchen.
Full time 5 days - MUST HAVE FULL TIME WORKING RIGHTS
Duties will include:
- Cleaning duties across the centre & kitchen as requested by the Head Chef
- Uppack deliveries
- Ensure that all food is stored, prepared and served in a safe & hygienic environment
- Knife skills
- Assisting in preparation and cooking nutritional meals (qualification dependent)
- Certificate in Safe Food Handling (preferable)
- Must hold or be working towards a hospitality or cookery qualification
- Must have full time working visa
- Working with Children Check
- The ability to work at a fast pace to keep a busy kitchen moving
- Excellent communication skills
- Previous experience working as a Kitchen Hand in a large commercial kitchen is highly regarded
