We are currently seeking experienced Kitchen Hands to join the team providing support services at Bethanie Dalyellup Aged Care Home. Bethanie Dalyellup is our newest site, with 120 beds across six small houses providing 24 hour care for people with diverse needs including dementia, palliative care and high care requirements.
We have several roles available, as outlined below.
- Working closely with the Chef in the main kitchen across week days and weekends 9am - 1pm
- Working mornings or afternoons completing general food prep and maintenance in our serveries across week days and weekends 7am – 2.30pm or 2.30pm – 8pm
To be successful in these roles, you will have experience or an interest in food preparation and be of a friendly nature, as interaction with our residents is core to our culture.
About You
- Possess a passion for or previous experience working as a Kitchen Hand, ideally in an aged care, hospital or similar environment
- Have a ‘can do’ attitude and a genuine compassion for our residents
- Reliable with a strong work ethic
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to uphold the Mission, Vision and Values of The Bethanie Group
- Willingness to obtain relevant vaccinations
- Current National Police Clearance (or willingness to apply for one)
The Role
- Ensuring responsible work practices of food preparation, kitchen cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Ensuring required ingredients are available daily
- Assisting in the preparation and serving of meals
- Maintaining all utensils, equipment, work benches and general surrounds in a clean and safe condition
- Collecting and washing pots, pans, crockery and cutlery
