We are currently seeking experienced Kitchen Hands to join the team providing support services at Bethanie Gwelup Aged Care Home. Bethanie Gwelup offers 62 independent living apartments and a 112 bed aged care facility, and has been designed, built and staffed to maximise resident’s enjoyment, lifestyle and well-being.
We have multiple permanent part time roles available, working across weekdays with shifts including:
- 6.45am - 1.45pm
- 1pm - 7.45pm
To be successful in these roles, you will have experience or an interest in food preparation and be of a friendly nature, as interaction with our residents is core to our culture. Opportunity to train and gain experience in other areas such as Domestic Assistance and Laundry will also be on offer to the successful candidates.
About You
- Possess a passion for or previous experience working as a Kitchen Hand, ideally in an aged care, hospital or similar environment
- Have a ‘can do’ attitude and a genuine compassion for our residents
- Reliable with a strong work ethic
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to uphold the Mission, Vision and Values of The Bethanie Group
- Willingness to obtain relevant vaccinations
- Current National Police Clearance (or willingness to apply for one)
The Role
- Ensuring responsible work practices of food preparation, kitchen cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Ensuring required ingredients are available daily
- Assisting in the preparation and serving of meals
- Maintaining all utensils, equipment, work benches and general surrounds in a clean and safe condition
- Collecting and washing pots, pans, crockery and cutlery
