Manor Meal is a part of Seniors Community Care, providing assistance to allow people to remain in their home as they age. Manor Meals offer prepared health and nutritious meals that are delivered to clients homes. Manor Meals is owned by St John Ambulance (Vic) who has been saving lives and delivering care and compassion throughout Victoria for 140 years. Our volunteers and our staff are the lifeblood of everything we do. We are currently recruiting for a Kitchen Hand to help prepare meals that are delivered to Seniors or aged persons, disabled persons or individuals who like the convenience of prepared noursihed meals.

The Opportunity

The Kitchen Hand role with Manor Meals is a full time role, but part time is negotiable, with the requirement to increase hours from time to time as needed. The role will be based at our Factory preparing made to order fresh frozen and chilled meals for the local community.

Key Responsibilities

• Simple food preparation duties in accordance with head chef and assistant chef's instructions
• Follow hygiene practices of the food safety program
• Assemble orders in accordance with delivery schedule
• Ensure all meals are labelled appropriately
• Follow cleaning procedures including safe use of chemicals and products

Your experience

• Recognised Basic Food Safety Practice qualifications or relevant experience
• Cooking & food preparation skills
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
• Ability to maintain client and carer confidentiality
• Understanding of hygiene practices of the food safety program
• Ability and willingness to follow instruction
• Good communication skills
• Experience working within aged care or with people with disabilities will be high regarded
