About the role

The KYC Frontline Support role is a crucial position within our Centre of Excellence, responsible for providing specialised support to frontline staff with KYC-related customer inquiries and issues. As the first point of contact for frontline staff seeking KYC assistance, the individual in this role plays a vital role in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while delivering excellent customer service.

As a Frontline Support Analyst you will  require a strong knowledge in customer identification (Applicable Customer Identification Procedures (ACIP) and Know Your Customer (KYC) at onboarding for non-individual customers – which underpins Suncorp’s obligation to Protecting Our Customers. This role will also include maintaining and enhancing KYC compliance practices within Business Banking.

What you’ll do

  • Handling frontline staff inquiries related to KYC processes, compliance, and documentation and providing accurate and timely responses.
  • Support the KYC Capability Lead and Manager, Centre of Excellence with 1st LoD risk requirements to deliver robust and consistent quality management frameworks for customer onboarding.
  • Assisting frontline staff with the submission and review of KYC documentation, ensuring completeness and compliance with internal and external standards.
  • Staying up-to-date with relevant KYC and AML (Anti-Money Laundering) regulations and guidelines and providing frontline staff with guidance on meeting these requirements.
  • Complete beneficial owner investigations for frontline and advise ultimate beneficial owners
  • Escalating complex KYC issues to higher-level support teams or AML/CTF Compliance (1st Line Risk Team), following established procedures.
  • Educating frontline staff on the importance of KYC compliance and assisting them in understanding the documentation and information required.
  • Maintaining detailed and accurate records of frontline staff interactions and KYC-related inquiries in Suncorp’s record keeping system.
  • Gathering and documenting frontline staff feedback regarding the KYC process, collaborating with relevant stakeholders to improve KYC procedures and documentation.

What you’ll bring

  • 2+ years’ experience in risk/compliance or related field in the Financial Services industry
  • Sound knowledge of financial institution operations and relevant regulatory requirements for banking
  • Sound knowledge of KYC requirements for non-personal complex entities
  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Management, Finance or another related field is desirable
  • Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and rapport building skills to establish and develop relationships
