We have a fantastic opportunity for a Lab Assistant to join Penola Catholic College and work in a supportive and collaborative environment.
As the Lab Assistant, you will work closely with the Lab Technician to advise and assist Science staff with laboratory safety matters and maintain a safe chemical storage system, inventory and relevant Safety Data Sheets in accordance with current regulations. You will be responsible for assisting the Lab Technician in purchasing, preparation, setting up, testing and clean-up of materials required for practical experiments and demonstrations.
This is a part time four days per week fixed term position for Term 1 2024, with the possibility of extension. The hours would be Monday to Thursday 8:00am to 4:06pm.
About You
To be successful you will ideally have previous practical laboratory experience and knowledge of contemporary laboratory practices. You will be highly organised and enjoy working in a team environment. You will also have excellent communication skills. A relevant tertiary qualification is highly desirable. You must have a valid Working With Children Check.
You will also have a demonstrated commitment to Catholic education and to the safety and wellbeing of children.
