An opportunity has become available for two-part time Laboratory Assistants – Grade 1 at our Knox Laboratory.
About the role
Calling all University graduates looking for part time work or return to work mums & dads. This is an ideal opportunity to get in on the ground level of a dynamic team supporting the developing healthcare system. In this role you will conduct a range of tasks including specimen reception, preparation of specimens for analysis, customer service, referral of specimens to tertiary laboratories and maintenance of instrumentation and equipment in compliance with accreditation and quality assurance requirements.
This position involves working in a fast paced environment and will be suitable for an individual who prides themselves on the level of accuracy in their work and has a strong customer focus. You will work as part of an experienced and dedicated team with exposure to a wide diversity of work.
The Knox laboratory operates 24 hours seven days a week. The position is for 35 hours, per fortnight including weekend work. The successful applicant will be expected to participate in shifts on weekends and public holidays. Applicants must be able to effectively liaise with Doctors, Nurses and Ancillary Staff from Doctor Surgeries and Hospitals.
