  • Level 6, $87,204.02 - $94,369.71 p.a., plus up to 17% employer superannuation
  • Full-time, 3 year month fixed-term appointment

UniSC has established a world class Clinical Trials business unit which builds the region's collective clinical research capacity and delivers innovative and regionally relevant research in consultation with key stakeholders, including local healthcare professionals, pharmaceutical executives, and other key thought leaders.

In this role, you will manage sample collection, processing, and shipping, ensuring strict adherence to ICH/Good Clinical Practice, Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), and UniSC CT SOPs. We're seeking a dedicated individual to uplift students, engage with partners, and connect with communities in a quietly confident, progressive manner. You will

Your role as Laboratory Technician at Uni SC Clinical Trials (Uni SC CT) is dynamic and crucial. You'll orchestrate the handling of laboratory samples, meticulously managing their collection, processing, and shipping in alignment with International Air Transport Association (IATA) regulations, ensuring the seamless operation of all trials. Collaborating closely with Uni SC CT teams, sponsors, and their representatives, you'll guarantee the efficient management of clinical trial protocol-assigned laboratory samples. Your focus on meticulous documentation will be key to our success in driving ground-breaking research forward.

About you:

Our ideal candidate embodies a genuine passion and dedication. You will have the expertise to effortlessly navigating the complexities of clinical trial protocols and enjoy collaborating closely with others to ensure that lab activities align perfectly with approved protocols. You're quite skilled with lab equipment and excel at finding new ways to improve efficiency.

You pay close attention to detail, ensuring that samples are handled meticulously and in line with regulations. Safety is a priority, and you're adept at managing hazardous materials while keeping the lab in top-notch condition. This role is for someone who is proactive, skilled in their field, and fully committed to pushing the boundaries of research in an academic environment.

To be successful you will possess:

  • expertise in ICH Good Clinical Practice and Good Laboratory Practice, ensuring meticulous adherence to regulation;
  • proficient in both independent work and collaborative teamwork within a diverse, fast-paced environment;
  • demonstrated skill in general laboratory practices;
  • high-level proficiency in computing, facilitating efficient data entry and management;
  • exceptional time management and detail-oriented approach in all tasks; and
  • flexibility for travel and commitment to safety protocols in laboratory settings.
