The Role
The Lab Technician’s primary role is to perform sampling, testing and reviewing of test results of construction materials samples according to relevant standards, while at the same time ensuring quality and accuracy of test results and adhering to safe operating procedures and guidelines. This role undertakes both field and laboratory testing.
Additionally, this role involves maintaining equipment in good operating order and performing internal verifications of lab equipment as required.
Our customers also represent an important component of our service delivery and therefore maintaining positive relationships with clients and stakeholders is another essential requirement of this role.
To be successful in this role you will need to have the following:
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role, including field experience
- Experience in working with Australian and other relevant construction materials testing standards
- Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques or Diploma in Laboratory Operations (or other relevant qualifications)
- Hold drivers’ licence and Construction White Card
- Nuclear Density Gauge licence (advantageous)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Sound level of literacy, computer literacy and numeracy skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to analyse and solve problems using initiative
- Valid work rights in Australia (unrestricted)
