Form of workOur client, one of Australia’s leading petroleum companies is seeking a Laboratory Superintendent to join their facility in the Eastern suburbs of Brisbane. You will be responsible for the effective, safe and efficient operation of the laboratory facilities. As well as having strong technical knowledge, you will also need to demonstrate excellent leadership experience.

Duties:
- Manage the development, implementation and monitoring of laboratory work procedures, equipment layout and safety precautions to achieve minimum practicable risk of personal injury and safety incidents
- Establish, monitor and achieve an operating expense budget for the laboratory to ensure cost competitive delivery of test result
- Continual review and improvement of the routine sample schedule to achieve efficient use of laboratory testing resources
- Manage the maintenance and improvement of an effective quality assurance systems to achieve high conformance with inter-laboratory correlation programmes
- Accountable for release for all fuel products through the completion of accurate laboratory testing and authorisation of product quality certificates
- Degree qualified with a Major in Chemistry
- Proven leadership experience within a laboratory setting to include leading, engaging and developing laboratory staff and functions
- OPEX/CAPEX management experience
- Extensive scientific experience, petrochemical and chemical industries preferred
- Strong stakeholder engagement
