Test, Report and Maintain
Hanson is seeking to appoint a Laboratory Supervisor at their NATA Accredited Laboratory located in Farleigh Quarry in Mackay. The successful candidate will fill an important role of not only testing aggregates both in the laboratory and in the field. We are seeking a self-motivated candidate with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who is physically fit and possesses a strong work ethic. The successful applicant will have an impeccable customer focus and be highly motivated and enthusiastic, risk-aware and safety-driven.
Financials - Entry vs Supervisor:
- Supervisor (experienced tester) - $30.77 - $35.75
- Penalty rates - rate x 1.5 after 8 hours, rate x 2 after 10 hours.
- This position is a full-time permanent role, working 50-55 hours per week including occasional Saturday work when necessary.
In your new role, you will:
- Perform aggregate field sampling in the quarry
- Perform aggregate testing within the site laboratory
- Carry out equipment calibrations
- Ensure Laboratory NATA requirements are maintained
- Assist the technical team
- Daily use of computers and laboratory information management systems (LIMS)
This role is a great fit for you, if you have:
- Certificate III in Laboratory Techniques preferred, but not essential
- Excellent Health and Safety behaviours
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills (written & verbal) with excellent attention to detail
- A current Queensland manual driver's license
- Available to work weekends and regular overtime
- An ability to take ownership and manage your own area of responsibility without close supervision
