Due to continued success and growth, HRL has an opportunity for a Laboratory Technician to join our team in Bundoora to assist in the delivery of laboratory services onsite at our third-party client. This role will be multi-faceted and involve undertaking a wide range of laboratory tasks requiring a flexible work approach to meet changing demands and priorities.
About the role
The role will be based at a leading global mining and materials company based in Bundoora.
Working as part of a busy fast-paced team, the Laboratory Technician will be responsible for:
- Providing hands-on support to the analytical services team involved in the analysis of a diverse range of samples including, ores, raw materials, and process materials.
- Preparation of samples for further testing and analysis utilising numerous preparation techniques including, but not limited to, sample fusion and sample digestion for ICP-OES analysis, wet chemistry, and gravimetric techniques, etc.
- Analysis of samples using various methods, i.e., UV-Vis Spectrometry, Ion Chromatography, Titrations, etc.
- Use of a Laboratory Information management System.
- Following all documented and quality procedures.
- Adherence to site health and safety requirements.
- Assisting with other laboratory tasks and general duties as required.
About you
You will be energetic in your approach, a committed and enthusiastic team player, passionate to pursue continuous learning and willing to undertake a range of tasks. You must be flexible in your work approach and able to handle changing demands and priorities to meet Company and customer expectations.
You will have:
- Diploma Laboratory techniques or related field or with a keen interest to work in a Laboratory environment.
- Possess the ability to maintain a high level of quality at all times, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work without supervision and complete allocated tasks on time.
- A commitment to safe work practices.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A sound knowledge of the Microsoft Suite of packages including Excel.
- A valid driver’s licence.
