AddressReporting to the Laboratory Supervisor, your role as a Laboratory Technician is to ensure the smooth operation of our laboratory during your shift, delivering a top-quality service in line with operational objectives.
Your responsibilities include:
- Prepare, test, and report on various samples, such as furnace taps, environmental specimens, and raw materials, as necessary.
- Execute preparation, testing, and reporting of export samples in accordance with Liberty Bell Bay and NATA requirements.
- Maintain high operational standards, surpassing applicable laws, regulations, and quality requirements, with a strong focus on safety and environmental compliance.
- Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of the Liberty Bell Bay Quality Management System as per company documentation.
- Conduct raw material testing on a range of furnace input materials and furnace support materials and ensure timely reporting to relevant internal stakeholders.
- Conduct wet lab chemical testing (pH, EC, TDS/TSS etc) and handle data entry and reporting, supporting analytical processes.
- Participate in a range of laboratory administrative duties including, but not limited to, weekly checklists, scheduled calibrations and quality assurance.
Roster: 4/4 (2 days & 2 Nights)
We are seeking an individual who is detail-oriented, adaptable, and motivated. To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- A minimum of TAFE Certificate in Laboratory Techniques (preferable).
- 1-2 years of laboratory experience, preferably in a heavy industry.
- Effective communication skills.
- Understanding of NATA guidelines & GLP (Good Laboratory practice).
- Ability to obtain Radiation Safety certification.
- Familiarity with instrumental analytical techniques.
- Knowledge of sampling and sample preparation techniques.
- Computer literacy.
- Problem-solving and basic statistical techniques.
This position is ideal for someone transitioning from a graduate role (depending on lab experience) or individuals with previous experience as a lab technician in heavy industry or geochemistry.
