Richmond Dairies is currently seeking an experienced Laboratory Technician to join our team on a full-time basis, Monday to Friday on a weekly rotating roster. The successful applicant will be self-motivated with a professional attitude and will be eager to assist in making a positive impact in their work environment.
About the Position
As a Laboratory Technician reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, your responsibility is to produce precise and punctual test outcomes using approved methods, guaranteeing adherence to safety, testing, and quality standards. Additionally, you'll be tasked with documenting test methods and procedure manuals.
Key Responsibilities
- Sampling, preparation, testing and analysis and verification of chemical, microbial samples and raw materials.
- Maintain, operate, calibrate and troubleshoot the laboratory equipment correctly as required.
- Review the performance of the laboratory through a defined set of measures (i.e. traceability of results, continuous improvement, accuracy of calibration and testing, undertaking corrective action).
- Liaison with internal and external stakeholders via verbal and written means to communicate accurate test results.
- Housekeeping of the laboratory environment, to adhere to safety standards.
- Carrying out receival, stocktake and storage of laboratory consumables.
About you
- Minimum Tertiary Qualification in Science or Food Science
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Proven experience within a Food Organisation in a related role is highly desirable
- GMP &/or HACCP qualifications is desirable.
- Knowledge of standard office applications, especially MS Word and MS Excel.
