Join our team at the Bio security Sciences Laboratory and support the National Red Imported Fire Ant Eradication Program. We are looking for a dedicated Laboratory Technician to assist with genetic analysis and other laboratory-based tasks.
Key Responsibilities:- Sample Preparation and Molecular Testing: Perform sample preparation and molecular tests following standard operating procedures after training.
- Laboratory Maintenance: Conduct general cleaning, maintenance, and other science support tasks to ensure smooth laboratory operations.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and ensure genetic analysis instruments and equipment are in optimal working order.
- Quality Assurance Compliance: Perform all tasks according to quality assurance requirements set by the Principal Molecular Biologist and relevant laboratory standards.
- Research and Diagnostic Support: Assist in conducting diagnostic, monitoring, and research activities on Red Imported Fire Ants under the guidance of senior scientific staff.
- Clear Direction Setting: Ability to set and support clear direction for tasks and goals, ensuring team alignment and focus.
- Organisational Capability Development: Skills in developing people and organisational capabilities to enhance team performance and productivity.
