Landscape Gardener - Brisbane

Advance Plants is looking to fill a full time landscape maintenance role based in Brisbane.

In particular, we are looking for experienced candidates that are keen to take ownership and full accountability for the landscape maintenance across a range of large sites in Brisbane.

 What sets us apart?

Advance Plants is different to many landscaping business. Of course, every company claims they are ‘different’, but there are five main things that we believe genuinely set us apart:   

First - simply put, we are a great place to work and have very low employee turnover. Indeed, the tenure of our team is 4.9 years!

Second - our strategy is different. We aim to to employ fewer people, but ensure that every member of our team is incredibly good at their job. We don't tolerate under-performers. This means we are highly efficient, make fewer mistakes, and there is less re-work and covering for under-performers.   

Third - we provide generous remuneration, including a profit share scheme available to all team members. 

Fourth - Virtually all roles are permanent (i.e. no casuals!). This helps us attract higher quality team members, and means that our team have security of employment, no reduction in hours over winter, holiday pay and all other statutory entitlements.

Fifth - we don't try and be all things to all people. We simply focus on what we're good at. For us, that is high quality commercial landscape maintenance in South East Queensland.

The role.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about landscape maintenance. Someone who loves working outside, and takes pride in making a landscape look outstanding.

While the tasks undertaken vary on a daily basis, typically they include: mowing; hedging; weeding; mulching; spraying; planting; snipping etc.

We work as a team, but our best team members are happy to work autonomously with limited direction and/or supervision.

Where is the role based?

The role is based at various sites around Brisbane, and will involve working at a number of different sites throughout the week.

What are the hours?

We work a 38 hour week (Monday - Friday), starting at 6 am and finishing around 2 pm. Depending on the site, earlier start times - particularly throughout summer - are possible.
