Landscaping Construction Apprenticeship

JR are a family owned, local business seeking an enthusiastic, hard working apprentice willing to learn in a team environment. 

JR specialise in retaining wall and exterior construction, are fully insured, and committed to providing a high quality, timely service to a variety of projects. Rick is a fully qualified and licensed builder and with Justin's earthmoving experience, JR Construction & Retaining Walls has the specialist equipment and professional expertise to undertake a wide variety of landscaping and construction projects. The JR team works in the Newcastle, Maitland and Hunter Valley NSW areas. 

• A valid driver’s license and transportation

• An ability to communicate effectively, listen, follow instructions and work in a team environment

• An ability to undertake physical work when required - an enthusiastic and energetic person

• Honesty, motivation, and reliability

• Desire to learn all things landscaping and construction

• A strong work ethic with organisational and time management skills

• Attention to detail and willingness to learn quality workmanship 

• A commitment to quality service 

• A valid white card 

What will you be doing?

• Structural landscaping

• Preparing slabs, footings and tying steel for concrete

• Learning surveying, leveling and excavation

• Working with other contractors

• Handling and finishing concrete

• Turf and paving preparation

• Constructing a variety of retaining walls

• Mowing, spraying, slashing, trimming, fertilizing & watering

• Planting

• Irrigation

• Digging

• Reading drawings and engineering details

• Moving materials
