An exciting opportunity for a Lead Civil/ Structural Design Engineer to join our fun, collaborative, and hardworking Engineering Services team based at our Parramatta!
About the role
Practical application of engineering skills to solve engineering problems.
Preparation of engineering design documents, specifications, drawings and scopes of work on time and within budget to meet project deadlines for assigned work packages.
Production of calculations required for the role that support design documentation.
Checking & approval of discipline documents.
Checking of interdisciplinary documents for compliance to client requirements and industry standards.
Travel to sites throughout Australia, as required.
About you
An engineering degree enabling full membership to Engineers Australia.
10+ years relevant experience in civil engineering covering proposal preparation, conceptual engineering, feed and detailed engineering.
Experience in the design of reinforced concrete and steel structures to support heavy industrial equipment and piping systems, Industrial foundations and earthworks, Road work, drainage, water and effluent treatment, Earthwork volume calculations, Road design, Paving design, Pipe supports and associated foundations.
Ability to prepare clear calculations suitable for third party verification checking.
Experience with civil and structural specifications and understanding and experience in application of relevant industry standards and codes.
Experience working in a design office and the use of industry standard engineering software.
A demonstrated ability to effectively work within a design team environment and with client representatives.
A demonstrated ability to work independently on routine Civil engineering tasks.
