About the RoleAre you an experienced professional in drafting and design, eager to take the next step in your career and lead and mentor a team to success? In this hands-on role, you'll lead our drafting efforts, ensuring precision and excellence in every project.
You will also take accountability for communicating accurate and reliable product and design specifications to the team to ensure design and quality values of Heka Hoods are upheld.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Leading and managing a team of drafters, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure high productivity and quality output;
- Assigning tasks and projects to team members based on their skills and workload, ensuring deadlines are met and resources are utilised effectively;
- Provide technical support and share comprehensive product knowledge;
- Reviewing and approving drafts and drawings to ensure accuracy, compliance with standards, and adherence to project requirements;
- Interpreting architectural drawings and building plans to develop cost estimates;
- Cultivating strong relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally.
As an experienced Draftsperson, you thrive in a fast-paced environment and are driven by results. You bring a wealth of experience in drafting in the building/design industry and enjoy sharing your knowledge and coachingand mentoring others. To excel in this role, you'll need:
- A Bachelor's degree in drafting, engineering, architecture, or a related field;
- Proven experience in drafting and design, with a strong understanding of drafting principles, techniques, and software (e.g. SolidWorks, Revit & AutoCAD);
- A demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders;
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously;
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work;
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to drafting and design;
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to overcome challenges;
- Experience working with CNC (Computer Numerical Control) is preferable.
