About Ballarat East:
We are excited to announce that Journey Early Learning Ballarat East is coming in early 2023! Our newest centre is a place where children aged from six weeks to six years of age can make a positive start to a life of learning, development, growth, and opportunity. Our purpose-built centre is located on Victoria Street, Ballarat East.
Want to be a part of Victoria’s history? Journey Early Learning has a unique opportunity to join our team in helping bring a vision to life in Ballarat. This site holds important history that dates back to the 1860s and is a vital part of the Ballarat community. The City of Ballarat Council has spent time restoring the historical sight in consultation with the Stolen Generations Officer and Aboriginal Cooperative. Connection is one of Journey’s values and creating links and ties with our local community is of utmost importance; Our Centre Leadership Team will be involved in not only day to day operations of the service but also in acknowledging, supporting and bringing the vision of 200 Victoria Street to life. About Your New Role:
As our new Lead Educator, it is your role to work as a team member and assist in providing a safe and stimulating environment that meets the social, cultural, emotional, educational and physical needs of the children and encourages parent participation and generally assists in the functioning of the centre.
We are inspired by each of our Lead Educators and value their input, connectiveness and knowledge. Journey offers networking opportunities for our Lead Educators to stay connected, transfer knowledge and build strong relationships across our centres.
Your main duties will include:
Bringing the Journey Values of connection , communication and consideration to life and reflecting this in everyday practice.
Ability to adhere to Journey’s child safe policy and code of conduct
Ensuring that daily routines are planned, reviewed, and adapted to meet children’s needs to ensure they create the opportunity for interaction and the extension of children’s learning.
Providing high-quality programmes for each child, based on their interests.
Conduct regular observations on individuals and groups of children reflective of all areas of their development.
Gathering information from written observations to support the design of a child-led program.
Build trusting relationships with families through regular, honest and open communication regarding the care of their child.
Role Requirements:
Experience working in an environment guiding and supporting children up to six years old.
A demonstrated ability to adhere to and understand the ECA code of Ethics and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child
Demonstrated understanding of appropriate behaviours while engaging with children
Experience developing high-quality programmes for children up to six years old.
Demonstrated commitment to providing a safe, caring, non-judgmental and supportive environment for children and their families.
ACECQA Approved Diploma in Children’s Services (or working towards)
Current Valid Working with Children Check
First Aid, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Certificates
Full Rights to Work in Australia
