Learn more about our in our .Job Summary:In this role, you will plan, develop, and review electrical engineering design work, produce drawings and documentation, and prepare design estimates for a project.You will coordinate with clients, facilitate technical discussions, and review key electrical drawings, calculations, and bid summaries, solving complex technical issues and ensure electrical designs comply with all regulations and standards.Major Responsibilities:
- Plans, develops, coordinates and reviews design work within a medium-size Electrical design work group on projects of medium size or assignments in support of global business unit.
- Generate 2D drawings or 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) design models of high complexity with minimal guidance from others, including single line diagrams, termination diagrams, network diagrams, block diagrams, P&ID's, general arrangements and layouts
- Coordinates and interfaces as directed with the day-to-day technical work of Electrical engineers, scientists, specialists, designers and drafters.
- Ensure compliance with approved design standards in own work and by those assigned, to provide quality design
- Responsible for the accuracy of bulk material quantity and material requisitions for materials applicable to the discipline
- Communicates complex technical issues and recommends solutions to upper management.
- Facilitates technical discussions with third parties (client, suppliers, regulators).
- Other responsibilities as designated.
- Broad progressive work experience in design engineering, science or other relevant types of engineering such as systems startup, field engineering or plant operation in large scale mining facilities, bulk-material handling facilities, mineral processing facilities, industrial plants, utilities, process plants, or engineering/construction firms.
- Knowledge of industry and regulatory standards, design criteria, guides & procedures and codes relevant to Electrical and Instrumentation discipline.
- Strong technical expertise with experience in designing protection and control circuits.
- Sound knowledge of Electrical design and drafting techniques, engineering drawings, reading of "ravings, and reproduction methods used by the discipline
- Familiarity with relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs) such as MicroStation V8i and Connect, AutoCAD and Navisworks Simulate.
- Skill in reading, interpreting and using related documents and drawings prepared by other project groups
- Knowledge of the application of engineering and construction materials, components and Instrumentation
- Knowledge of the methods and procedures used for procurement, take-offs and control of bulk materials
- Extensive experience in design and drafting, combined with demonstrated skill in a leadership and supervision or recognized courses in the directing of personnel
