Lead Electrical Engineer

The Role
The successful candidate will prepare, manage and monitor the Electrical Engineering, mechanical and earthing aspects from concept to design. Reporting directly to the Design Manager the Lead Electrical Engineer’s daily responsibilities will include:

• Leading engineering designs and procurement works in accordance with technical specification and Australian/International Standards.
• Submitting Power applications for Mobile base station sites nationally.
• Completing Electrical designs for upgrades and greenfield mobile base station deployments.
• Conducting site inspections.
• Liaising with both internal and other stakeholders regarding engineering related matters and ensuring that any technical difficulties are articulated and resolved promptly.
• Completing design certification sign-offs including setting and maintaining design issue milestones and standards. 
• Assisting the Design Manager with the coordination of all works, allocation of resources, fee negotiations and compliance to contract milestones.
• Prepare and review work packs that include MDR’s, ITP’s, drawings, ITR’s, JSA’s and SWMS.

Essential Skills/Qualifications/Experience

• Tertiary Qualifications in Electrical Engineering. 
• At least 8 years’ in building services/Electrical Engineering.
• Qualifications in Civil / Structural Engineering is highly regarded.
• Ability to interpret Scope of Work documentation and design drawings.
• Familiarisation with drafting software tools including AutoCAD, MicroStation or Solidworks.
• Knowledge of local power authority requirements, installation standards and State regulations and guidelines.
• Knowledge of Solar design for remote telecommunications sites.
• Experience with AC and DC systems within telecommunications sites and earthing systems (Telstra, Optus, TPG).
• Experience on Telstra standards for electrical design of Small Cells and Macro sites.
• Experience with design for BTS configurations/layouts, RRU, BBU, feeders and trunk cables.
• Valid Driver’s License & Construction Safety Induction White Card
• High level customer relationship management and interpersonal skills.
