About Your Opportunity
As the Lead Emergent Works Planner, you will lead a multi-disciplinary team to coordinate, oversee, and undertake planning for Emergent Works projects including renewals, refurbishments, and improvements. Leading a team of professionals, you will deliver high quality Business Cases for Emergent Works projects and are responsible for presenting and gaining approvals of the preferred option. You will also ensure a thorough and effective management of transition of projects to the Emergent Works Delivery team. Your skills and expertise will see you providing sound advice on Emergent Works to ensure a prudent and efficient delivery.
This role is responsible for:

  • Leading a team of Planners in the planning of Emergent Works projects including asset renewals, asset refurbishments and improvements to achieve water supply strategies, requirements, and specifications prudently and efficiently.
  • Overseeing, reviewing and developing business cases, including understanding strategic intent, development of budgets and schedules, and options analysis.
  • Managing all aspects of contractor engagement and contractor management engaged by Emergent Works, including engagement of consultants, monitoring performance and delivery of agreed outputs.
  • In consultation and collaboration with Operations and Asset Management Planning teams, critically explore and analyse solution to enable informed and cost effective decision-making on assets throughout their Lifecycle.
  • Assisting as needed with the timely resolution of scoping issues and by ensuring adequate consideration of procurement options as part of planning activities.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
Essentials
  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering or other relevant trade experience with significant demonstrated experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading teams, consultants, and/or contractors.
  • Possess a current "C" class Queensland Drivers Licence
  • Substantial experience in management of infrastructure, evaluation of assets and their performance, preferably in water industry (dams, treatment plants, pumping equipment, or pipelines).
Desirables
  • Qualifications and professional experience in management or project management.
  • Demonstrate high level written, interpersonal and oral communication skills including the ability to consult with a range of Seqwater employees, contractors, customers and the public.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and assessment of complex asset sustainability projects and developing high quality planning reports and Business Cases.
This position has a salary starting at $121,326 - 130,880 dependant on experience plus 12.75% superannuation
