Lead Family Worker – Orygen @ Home

Your new role:
A multidisciplinary role open to Grade 5 Registered Psychiatric Nurses and Grade 4 Occupational Therapists, Social Workers and Psychologists.
- Provide training, primary and secondary consultation, and direct clinical work alongside clinicians to support the development of their skills
- Share the considerable knowledge and experience of working with families of young people with severe mental health problems with the multidisciplinary team
- Contribute to general mental health clinician tasks to ensure comprehensive and safe consumer- and family/carer-oriented care is provided in the home environment
- Provide inclusive and sensitive practice to young people and their families/carers from Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander, CALD and LGBTQIA backgrounds
Your new team
Forming part of Orygen Specialist Program, a program of the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Orygen @ Home is an acute service providing access to care 24-hours, 7-days per week by a multidisciplinary team completing shift work rosters, and ensuring comprehensive, collaborative and coordinated mental health care to young people aged 15 to 25 and their families/carers in Melbourne's northwest and western suburbs.
About you:
- Relevant registration and qualifications – including training in family/systems therapy and/or approved qualifications in family therapy, mediation or equivalent (required)
- Knowledge of and training in family-based approaches to mental health including the Single Session Family Consultation Framework
- Comprehensive experience in the provision of mental health assessment, treatment and case management, including with young people
- Demonstrated experience in providing supervision and support to clinical workforce, in particular other Family Workers
