Job description

I am currently partnering with one of Queensland's largest employers to recruit an experienced Lead Front End Developer to lead development and maintenance of a large customer-centric web solution as part of an Agile team. This is an initial 8-month day rate contract + likely extensions based in Brisbane's CBD with some work flexibility options available.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Investigate, analyse and develop digital user interface solutions using industry standard front-end development technologies (refer to the "Technical Capabilities" section);
  • Assist in UI analysis and design activities (e.g. scoping concept design, test strategies, user acceptance studies and behavioural monitoring);
  • Provide advice to internal and external stakeholders regarding UI project deliverables, to ensure recommended solutions reflect their business requirements and outcomes can be delivered within the current business environment; and
  • Foster open communication and cohesion within the team and proactively encourage team initiatives especially in business improvement opportunities.

Requirements of the role

  • Key Capability One: Demonstrated experience in the development and maintenance of customer-centric web solutions as part of an Agile team; and
  • Key Capability Two: Demonstrated experience in analysing business requirements and identifying appropriate solutions.

Technical Capabilities

  • Technical Capability One: Demonstrated skills and experience in:
    • HTML5, CSS / SCSS, JavaScript, Node.JS;
    • Web Frameworks & Libraries (e.g. Angular, React, VueJS, JQuery, Bootstrap 3+);
    • Git (e.g. GitHub, Bitbucket);
  • Technical Capability Two: Ideally experience in one or more of:
    • Web Component standards and helpers such as Lit;
    • Build tools (e.g. NPM, Gulp, webpack, Github actions);
    • Testing frameworks (e.g. Jasmine, Jest, Selenium);
    • REST API integration;
    • Accessibility compliance (e.g. WCAG);
  • Specific experience with the following platforms and frameworks would be highly regarded:
    • Form.io;
    • Squiz Matrix; and
    • Queensland Government's Single Website Experience (SWE).
