As a trusted advisor and subject matter expert in geoscience workflows within the industry, you will play a crucial role in processing and interpreting geoscience data to ensure that customers derive maximum value from Orica products.Based in the Welshpool office in Perth, Western Australia, you will work with a friendly and supportive team to mentor geoscience teams, manage geophysical and geological interpretation projects, and provide expert guidance to enhance the company's mining operations and growth strategies.If you are a Senior Geophysicist / Petrophysicist , this role presents an exciting opportunity for you to contribute to the advancement of digital solutions in the mining industry and make a significant impact in shaping the future of mining at Orica.What you will be doing
- Processing and interpretation of Borehole Magnetic Resonance jobs, and development of related answer products.
- Oversight of processing work on a broad range of downhole survey data such as image logs, but with a strong focus on nuclear magnetic resonance applications in lithium brine and insitu recovery of uranium
- Develop and maintain a complete understanding of all the commercial product/services offered by Orica;
- Primary customer focal point for interpretation of geoscience data;
- Publish technical papers related to Orica's product offering and peer review of all case studies / marketing material;
- Identify consulting and answer product opportunities and facilitate integrated geoscience solutions;
- Mentoring of geoscience personnel to ensure standardized, high-quality data delivery.
- Geophysics related degree, petroleum engineering or geology;
- Minimum 5 years' experience in technical role
- Well-developed mentoring and coaching skills;
- Proven influencer, able to manage processes across multiple stakeholder groups;
- Experience with WellCAD, Geo Log or similar and NMR nuclear magnetic resonance.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, including prioritization, planning, task delegation, and coordination across multiple teams.
