The Opportunity
ConocoPhillips are looking to appoint an experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer based out of their Brisbane corporate office. The Lead Mechanical Engineer will provide technical expertise across their APLNG static and rotating equipment/assets. As part of the engineering leadership team, this person will manage and supervise a team of Mechanical Engineers.
Core Responsibilities
- The primary function of this role is to provide leadership, enablement, and support to your direct reports/Engineers; Senior Mechanical Engineer (Static) and 2x Rotating Equipment Engineers,
- Ensuring optimal performance of rotating and static equipment is a key aspect of the role,
- Provide technical advice, support, and guidance to all functions within DS Operations as required,
- Technical Authority for both Mechanical Engineering functions as well as Rotating Equipment Engineering functions within the APLNG DS Operation,
- Collaborate across the various departments within ConocoPhillips, including operations, maintenance, and safety, to address operational challenges, implement improvements, and optimize overall plant performance,
- Reporting directly into the Engineering Manager, you will develop a strong relationship with, and support key decisions made for all of the engineering team,
- Maintain key relationships with appointed service providers, contractors, and consultants.
- Relevant tertiary degree i.e., Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Mechanical (or something similar, i.e., Industrial Engineering),
- Strong supervisory experience is required,
- Registration as RPEQ/CPEng or ability to register as RPEQ/CPEng,
- An in-depth, illustrious work history as a Mechanical Engineer (Downstream Operations),
- Live/work/reside in Brisbane. Full relocation assistance will be provided by ConocoPhillips should the candidate need support moving from interstate or overseas,
- Must have full AU working rights (AU Permanent Residency or Citizenship).
