Job description

Wood has an immediate requirement for a technically focused Lead Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Consultant to join our Consulting O&M team based in Perth CBD in Western Australia.  This position reports to the APAC O&M Operations Manager.

You will become part of a team focused on delivering solutions for our client's assets across Australia and the wider APAC region. Providing technical expertise to our clients you will be a subject matter expert in areas of operational readiness, operations documentation, and competency training. A driver of consistent technical excellence in Operations Documentation development, ensuring "best in class" solutions.

Working alongside O&M Technical Leads, you will be contributing to the delivery of O&M excellence through:

  • Providing subject matter discipline input and consultancy across operations documentation work scopes, which may include the following specific activities: documentation gap analysis, criticality assessments, task analysis, documentation updates, and documentation production
  • Providing input to and technical leadership on operations documentation and documentation consultancy projects
  • Undertaking project reviews in accordance with Wood's review and checking procedures, and providing feedback to the operations team and project processes
  • Reviewing and approving assigned Wood deliverables
  • Ensuring self-awareness of relevant regulatory framework, legislation changes, initiatives, and industry technology developments
  • Providing operations documentation consultancy technical support to the wider Wood business
  • Ensuring that Wood delivery methodologies incorporate industry-recognized best practices
  • Providing consultancy-specific input to scope definition and execution for business development proposals and new project work scopes
  • Preparing monthly cost and progress reports and attending client performance review meetings for assigned projects
  • Ensuring quality of delivery
  • Liaising with client departments, customers and other engineering and production colleagues
  • Responsible for the project HSSE leadership, ensuring a program of initiatives and auditing schedule are established and that HSSE and quality management issues are proactively addressed
  • Participating in assurance activities and peer reviews

  • Time served or degree qualified with experience in hands-on operations documentation authoring
  • Project management experience preferred
  • Operations documentation project delivery
  • Development and SME input into Operations documentation
  • Documentation requirements and facility Gap analysis
  • Diligent and dependable in the consistent application of established process
  • Professional demeanour with appropriate interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional written communication [technical report writing]
  • Asset economics and application of whole lifecycle costing principles
  • Quantitative risk and reliability techniques
  • Operations task criticality assessments
