As the Lead Instructor, your primary responsibility will be to provide unwavering support to a team of instructors, ensuring the consistent delivery of our client's core product, the workout. You will play a pivotal role in optimising instructor and client retention, as well as class utilisation, while upholding the highest standards of quality and excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Instructor Support & Feedback:
- Conduct regular formal evaluations and deliver constructive feedback to foster continuous instructor development.
- Provide prompt support and guidance to instructors as needed.
- Participate in classes weekly, offering detailed feedback to instructors for improvement.
Lead Additional Instructor Training:
- Facilitate an 8-day training program for new instructors, adhering to established guidelines.
- Conduct final evaluations and provide ongoing support to new instructors.
Lead Continuing Education Workshops:
- Deliver advanced teaching workshops to enhance instructional capabilities.
- Conduct quarterly workshops as directed, providing support during collective workshops as required.
Exemplify the Instructor Standard:
- Teach a minimum of 15 classes weekly, maintaining instructional excellence.
- Collaborate with the General Manager to manage instructor scheduling effectively.
- Offer studio support for substitute instructors when necessary.
Fitness Expertise and Talent Development:
- Stay informed on industry trends and advancements, maintaining a high level of fitness expertise.
- Identify and attract top talent to build a team of instructors aligned with organisational goals.
Marketing:
- Support social media content creation and local marketing initiatives as needed.
Key Performance Indicators:
- New client retention
- Class utilisation
- 12-month average NPS scores
- Deliver excellent client service in partnership with General Manager & Community Manager
Required Qualifications/Experience:
- Certificate III or IV in Fitness, Pilates Instructor Certification, or Lagree Instructor Certification
- Minimum 5 years in the fitness industry with group exercise class instruction experience
- Minimum 2 years in leadership and management roles
- Current First Aid certification and professional liability insurance
- Unrestricted Australian working rights
