Our valued client, a Global EPC, are looking for a Lead Process Engineer to join their Perth based Operations on an initial 12 months contract.Job DescriptionOur valued client, a Global EPC, are looking for a Lead Process Engineer to join their Operations business in a pivotal role as they partner with major player in the LNG industry to deliver one of the most significant brownfield Oil & Gas engineering projects in 2024 and beyond. An established company delivering brownfields engineering, procurement, construction, optimisation, and technical services to the Oil & Gas industry and enjoys long-term partnerships with some of the region's most prominent producers located in Western Australia, Northern Territory and Southeast Asia.ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Engineering Manager, you will step up and into a dedicated, integrated client project team. You will balance technical, team, client, and project leadership across onshore gas plants (including LNG) and offshore gas and condensate production facilities and thrive on the challenge of:
- Working across a range of engineering projects at any phase including: - concept identification, selection and definition, FEED, detailed design/execute, commissioning and start-up, as-building, and closeout.
- Setting clear technical direction for any assigned direct reports on the project, including weekly goals for each member of the team.
- Representing the Process discipline in design reviews, HAZOPs, HazIDs and LOPA and have capability to facilitate such reviews.

If you have a visa application in progress, you are also encouraged to apply.Suitably qualified in Chemical Engineering from a recognised institution, ideally you will have proven experience working in a similar Lead Process / Principal Process Engineering role, supported by 15+ years of relevant design engineering experience within the Oil & Gas production and / or processing industries. Your relevant experience participating in HAZOP, HAZID and SIL rating studies is essential.In addition, you will:
- Be recognized as an expert in Process engineering and have knowledge of advanced principles and techniques of engineering, with experience delivering within a challenging and complex multi-discipline environment.
- Be a leader of people with several years of supervisory experience, capable of engendering an entrepreneurial spirit of cooperation and energising diverse teams to adopt best practice, driving optimal performance with safety at the heart of everything we do.
- Have a professional level of knowledge of relevant regulatory framework and legislation with an ability to apply relevant technical practices, codes, and standards.
- Be commercially astute with a “solutions mindset”, skilled in the management of risk during the design process consistent with safety, technical and commercial requirements.
- Be an articulate communicator (both written and verbal) including well-developed technical report writing and professional presentation skills.
- Have excellent knowledge of MS Office applications, spreadsheets, and commercial engineering programs (HYSYS, Dynamic HYSYS preferred).
- Have a passion energy security / transition with the vision to navigate energy models of the future, coupled with your proven experience partnering with clients to be more efficient, sustainable, and optimised to deliver the best energy mix in their respective markets.
