About the role:
In this dynamic role, you'll lead the charge in bringing cutting-edge products to life within the Auto Pacific Engineering Group. Your main focus will be on driving innovation by managing project timelines and providing guidance to a passionate team of engineers.
As a key player in our organisation's success, you'll have the exciting opportunity to identify and seize upon new product opportunities, refine designs, and optimize expenditures. Your contributions will directly impact the profitability of Auto Pacific Group by elevating our products and services to new heights.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop new products, meeting customer and budget expectations.
- Manage jigs, production processes, and pilot runs for flawless product launches.
- Ensure products developed are of the required quality, durability and standard to perform to our customers’ expectations and requirements.
- Assist with product costings for new project acquisition.
- Ensure product development processes are followed for the effective design, validation, and delivery of projects.
- Ongoing product support for customer, quality concerns.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant Customer, international or Australian Standards
- Create an environment that positively re-enforces the cross functional relationships that will drive cooperation and financial growth.
About you:
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering (preferably Mechanical) and CP Eng or NER.
- Demonstratable experience in a Lead PE role or extensive Senior Engineering experience.
- Understanding of design principles related to vehicle protection systems, roof rack systems, and towing systems.
- Knowledge of metals fabricating processes and plastic/rubber moulding technologies.
- Understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and fasteners.
- Previous experience in managing end to end engineering projects.
- Ability to manage a small team of engineers and prioritise tasks (2-4 individuals).
- Experienced in CAD modelling (Solidworks) and technical document creation (Adobe Illustrator CS-2 / Photoshop).
