We are currently representing one of the leading international consultancies in the energy sector and together, we are on the lookout for a talented and driven Lead Protection Engineer to take part in a once-in-a-generation project that is set to redefine the energy landscape in New South Wales.
You will possess a profound understanding of electrical engineering principles and have extensive experience in protection coordination studies for both HV and LV systems. This role demands expertise in the development of protection system drawings, protection setting reports, and the configuration of protection relays using OEM software.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and conduct protection coordination studies to ensure optimal performance of HV and LV systems.
- Develop comprehensive protection system drawings and protection setting reports, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Configure and program protection relays using OEM software to meet project specifications and operational needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement robust protection schemes for electrical distribution and transmission networks.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Stay ahead of the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in electrical protection systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Extensive experience in electrical engineering, specifically in protection coordination studies for HV and LV systems.
- Profound knowledge of electrical engineering principles and practices, especially related to power system protection.
- Knowledge or experience of IEC61850 is desirable
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the capacity to lead projects and teams effectively.
- Proficiency in relevant software tools and applications.
