Responsibilities:
The Lead Telecommunication Rigger / 2IC will be responsible for overseeing rigging operations for telecommunication projects. This role requires strong leadership abilities, technical proficiency in rigging techniques specific to telecommunications, and a dedication to maintaining high safety standards in a dynamic work environment.
- Lead and coordinate rigging activities for telecommunication infrastructure projects, including tower installations, antenna mounting, and equipment placement, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and project timelines.
- Provide supervision and guidance to rigging crew members, facilitating efficient and effective project execution while promoting a culture of safety and professionalism.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager and engineering team to interpret project specifications and develop rigging plans that meet technical requirements and regulatory standards.
- Conduct site assessments and risk assessments prior to rigging activities, identifying potential hazards and implementing appropriate safety measures to mitigate risks.
- Maintain inventory and perform regular inspections of rigging equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Assist in the training and development of rigging crew members, promoting skill enhancement and proficiency in telecommunication rigging techniques.
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to coordinate rigging activities and address project-related inquiries or concerns.
- Document rigging activities, including rigging plans, equipment usage, and safety procedures, to ensure compliance with project requirements and regulatory obligations.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in telecommunication rigging, with a strong understanding of rigging techniques, equipment, and safety protocols specific to the telecommunications industry.
- Proven leadership skills, with experience supervising and coordinating rigging activities in a telecommunication infrastructure setting.
- Technical proficiency in using rigging tools and equipment, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve rigging-related issues effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with project teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards governing telecommunication rigging operations, including telecommunications industry codes and Work Health and Safety (WHS) requirements.
- Availability to work flexible hours and travel to project sites across South Australia, as required.
