This company manufactures conveyors and elevator solutions primarily for the food and packaging industry. It is solely Australian-owned and based in the southeastern suburbs. It boasts an enviable client base of multinational manufacturers.
Due to continued growth, they are looking for a skilled and experienced full-time Leading Hand / Mechanical fitter/welder for conveyor assembly/building to join their friendly team.
Reporting to the General Manager, the Mechanical Fitter Conveyor Technician is primarily responsible for assembling conveyors, including modular side flexing conveyors, elevators, wide belt conveyors, and belt conveyors (PVC). This is a pivotal role within a growing business, where you will create and deliver designs and hardware to various clients.
You will also lead a small team of tradespeople, guiding and instructing them and managing project work. You will assist the Manager with projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assembly of aluminium and stainless-steel conveyors.
- Site installation and maintenance activities.
- Management of workshop.
- Coordination of sub-contracting workforce and
- Work with suppliers and colleagues to ensure first-class project delivery
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate
- The successful candidate will come with experience within the manufacturing industry.
- Experience as a fitter in a workshop environment.
- Workshop assembly experience.
- Mechanical understanding and trade qualifications.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and organisation skills.
- Ability to project and team manage.
