About the opportunity:
In this key role you will ensure that the quarry production process is carried out in a cost effective manner with a focus on continuous improvement to achieve business objectives and targets - ensuring that all safety, environmental and production requirements are met.
You will assist with the day to day management and supervision of the site including production and workers and help to maintain a safe system of work in the workplace – complying with all relevant safety, health and environmental standards and legislation.
Further and detailed responsibilities are found in the position description which is available upon request and will include:
Ensuring workers are well supervised and are working within Holcim's safety rules & standards
Responsible for the starting up & shutting down and ongoing daily monitoring of the fixed plant.
Monitoring of production output so plant adjustments can be made for quality control and plant productivity.
Liaison with management to ensure production is within specification and stockpile quality is maintained.
Assisting with management of the Plant maintenance program to ensure optimum benefit is derived from the asset.
Ensuring operations are conducted in a manner that is socially responsible i.e. managing plant noise levels etc.
Assist as a relief operator during meal breaks or if someone is away.
Supervising production, sales and minor maintenance as required inline with overtime requirements.
About you:
Credible and relevant experience ideally within the quarrying or related industry sectors
Supervisory experience (preferred)
Willingness to learn and develop as per company & job requirements.
Well-developed interpersonal and influencing skills
A clear and proficient communicator
A self-starter
A team player
Functional computer skills to perform necessary production, safety and business data entry and reporting.
