WE are a family farming business with a cropping program of 4500ha of mainly wheat and canola. The business is located in Wittenoom Hills in Western Australia.
We are seeking an experienced Leading Machinery Operator who holds either an AQF Certificate II or equivalent, or has at least three (3) of years of relevant work experience.
As a Leading Machinery Operator your everyday responsibilities will include:
· Operating various agricultural machinery (including John Deere 9520R, JohnDeere 9420R, JCB Fastrac Tractor, Bourgault 16m seeder bar, 15000L liquid tank and Simplicity air-seeder, Kelly-chain, Bredal spreader, Claas 8800, Claas 780, Claas 580 combine harvesters, 60t Coolamon chaser bin, Case 621B wheel loader, 7t Dieci Telehandler, Kenworth truck 8 wheel tip truck with 18 speed road ranger gear-box, Freightliner Argosy prime-mover roadtrain, Reefinator, Grizzly operation, Augers and field bin operation, Nyrex Maximus 275t mother bin etc);
· On-farm road building with loader and grader
· Loading gravel into belly dumper
· Harvest seasons – including grain quality and grain storage management
· Seeding seasons – including monitoring seed depth and making adjustments as necessary
· Spreading fertiliser, gypsum and lime on paddocks
· Picking rocks
· Fence-line chemical spraying
· Ripping operations
· Tram-line renovation
· A thorough understanding of controlled traffic farming practices
· Comprehensive understanding of John Deere GPS and RTK operation
· Responsible for calibration of machinery and record keeping on maintenance of all machinery operated
· Maintaining and servicing of all machines
· Training and overseeing low-skilled seasonal employees during seeding and harvest.
In addition, the right candidate will be required to have:
· HR truck license
· AGF3 Chemcert accreditation
· Conscientious approach
· Team leadership skills
· The ability to work unsupervised
· Willingness to work obscure hours when necessary
· Computer literacy skills
· Willingness to live remotely
This is a full-time contract including living and working in the Goldfields DAMA region and offering a generous salary between $70,000 to $85,000 plus superannuation to the right candidate (depending on experience).
