Job description:
Position Purpose
Plan, create, organise and execute the technical training and Development requirements for Operational employees at Sydney Airport, ensuring Aviation processes and systems are correctly instituted within each employee. Overall responsibility of the Computer Based Training (CBT) functions on Sydney Airport whilst providing leadership supervision of staff within the Learning & Development Department of Certis.

- Working effectively with internal and external partners such as the operations team, training team, senior management, and external stakeholders to accomplish training goals; using knowledge of internal and external events to anticipate potential problems and to mutually resolve issues
- Identify training and Development priorities and needs of the organisation, specific units and individuals
- Manage the day to day requirements of the department to ensure they adequately meet the staff development and training requirements of the division
- Provide leadership in planning, implementing, and evaluating the training delivery undertaken by Certis Aviation
- Maintain a strong understanding of operational needs and expectations, working effectively with the instructional designer ensuring that learning materials are updated to meet the requirements of security operations.
- Ensure that all qualifications, licenses, and accreditations required to carry out duties are kept up to date within the team
- Build and lead a small team to conduct the day to day functions in the Learning and Development department.
- Attend and contribute to regular operations meetings and additional meetings
- Promotion of aviation training to internal and external stakeholders
- Design and provide justification for annual training budget internally and with Sydney Airport
- Internal audits and customer experience
- Records Management
- Communicate regulatory changes to frontline staff
- Coaching and Counselling of Trainees
Mandatory
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment - TAE40116
- Successfully obtain a Red ASIC upon employment
Desirable
- Tertiary qualification in training and assessment
- Familiarity with CASA and Aviation training requirements
- NSW Class 2D - Security Trainer
- NSW Security License - 1A, 1C and 1E
- Experience operating within the Aviation industry
- Adult Learning styles and best practice
- Experience with managing a Learning Management Systems
- Experience in the development of contemporary eLearning products
