The Team

Reporting within the general manager's unit, the People and Culture function has been recently restructured, marking an exciting chapter in our organization's journey. The Role
The purpose of this role will be to manage the design, implementation and evaluation of Council's learning programs. This includes researching, developing and/or sourcing innovative learning and development programs, designing and delivering training content and materials, and partnering with the People and Culture team and the business to ensure the development and maintenance of robust learning systems and processes, including process improvements for services offered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Works with the Organisational Development and Transformation team as well as building strong partnerships with leaders to understand Council learning needs and ensure targeted solution development.
  • Working across the organisation with leaders and staff identifying and prioritising learning needs and ensuring demands are met within competing deadlines, budget and resourcing constraints.
  • Build a catalogue of learning content according to business needs and facilitate delivery and completion of training.
  • Have a broad understanding of learners’ goals and challenges, their work environment, and learning styles across a diverse workforce including overcoming accessibility issues for work groups with limited access to technology.
  • Ensure all Council’s existing learning content including induction and onboarding programs, is reviewed and updated continually in line with Council requirements and feedback received.

About You

  • Hold relevant tertiary qualifications in human resources and or Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or significant related field or relevant industry experience and or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated design learning through the ability to communicate complex information, verbally and in writing, concisely and in a manner, which drives people to act.
  • Experience managing a learning management system.
