Covering an expansive geographical area which includes the Central Coast, Sydney’s Northern Beaches and North Shore, Catholic Schools Broken Bay is a system serving 45 Catholic Schools with around 17,000 students from Kindergarten to Year 12.

About the Role

The Learning Partner plays a significant role in providing subject matter expertise to support school leaders in building differentiated learning cultures, ensuring teaching quality, and student engagement and learning across CSBB schools. 

The role focuses on building a cohesive system of support to improve outcomes for learners and their access to the curriculum as part of strategic programs and Learning Improvement Programs, with a focus on literacy, numeracy and assessment for early year students. 

This is a highly collaborative role within the Student Achievement Workstream to build system level capability to enhance access learning outcomes for students across CSBB schools. This role collaborates with school leadership, Learning Partners and cross functional teams to create inclusive learning environments and ensure high quality education for all students.

This is a temporary, part-time role (0.4FTE) based at Pennant Hills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with the Strategy Leads, Learning Partners and other CSBB Leads to provide subject matter expertise in the delivery of the Learning Improvements in CSBB Early years
  • Monitor the development of Primary Syllabuses and facilitates effective implementation
  • Partner with school leaders to develop capability in making curriculum adjustments, implementing programs that meet the needs of students and monitoring student progress
  • Collaborate with school leaders to support innovation and improvement to ensure quality teaching and learning for learners
  • Support the shaping of learning in the Early Years
  • Support school leadership in assessing school and system data with an evidence-informed approach to ensure that numeracy and literacy levels are continuously improving and directly correlate to improved student learning outcomes
  • Support school leadership in reviewing and analysing learning and teaching to ensure high quality teaching and learning of the curriculum
  • Collaborate with others to develop and deliver high-quality evidence-based blended professional learning
  • Engage in strategic initiatives and participate in key projects aligned to Towards 2025 as required
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders to implement the broad strategic vision
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure school-based decision-making takes in varying perspectives and is evidence informed
  • Contribute to a work environment built on trust and models professional standards and behaviour

About You

  • Supportive of and can demonstrate an understanding and commitment to, the ethos of the Catholic faith in an educational context
  • Working understanding of NSW syllabus documents, with subject matter expertise in K-6 Literacy and Numeracy
  • Practical understanding of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers, the Australian Professional Standard for Principals, the Australian Teacher Performance and Development Framework, and the Australian Charter for Professional Learning of Teachers and School Leaders, and the National School Improvement Tool
  • Extensive knowledge and deep understanding of effective pedagogy and assessment practices
  • Has a solutions-focused mindset
  • Has sound knowledge and skill in the Microsoft suite of products
  • Understands the connections between strategic goals and operational activities within Student Achievement, for each individual school and the impact on teaching and learning in each context
  • Understanding of contemporary approaches to the design, delivery and evaluation of professional learning within a ‘standards’ informed environment
  • Understands and appreciates performance growth and adult learning and associated methodologies
  • Highly skilled teacher with highly credible and innovative teaching practice equivalent to at least Highly Accomplished
  • Demonstrated collaborative approach in working with schools to guide an integrated approach that supports improved teaching and learning
  • Evidence of effectively leading a successful learning improvement initiative that improved student outcomes
  • Experience in using evidence and data analysis to inform educational initiatives
  • Has designed and delivered contextualised professional learning that resulted in improved processes and practices
  • Highly skilled coach to lead collaborative performance growth processes and practices
  • Is energised by working in a fast-paced environment
  • Is adaptive and responsive to change and can adapt to working under pressure and re-prioritising tasks
  • Can manage competing priorities and the sensitivities of others to deliver high quality work

Qualifications

  • NESA approved undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Teaching / Education or have the relevant experience
  • Accredited to teach in NSW
  • Certificate (or equivalent experience) in facilitating adult learning, work force development or coaching
  • Valid Working with Children Check
  • Current NSW Driver’s Licence (and own car required)
