About the Role
Our School is actively seeking qualified and experienced casual, Learning Support Assistant for our Senior Years team at the Ridgeway Campus.
The Learning Support Assistant at our School provide assistance with the educational program and work under the direction and supervision of the Individual Needs Coordinator to support students. This role works directly with students with a strong sense of empathy and care in our highly professional teaching and learning environment. The Learning Support Assistant must demonstrate a calm, caring and respectful manner and model the School’s Ivanhoe Learner values to a high standard at all times.
Your Everyday
Working closely with Teachers and Individual Needs Teacher(s), the successful candidate will:
- Be provided with growth coaching to evolve and improve their impact on student learning
- build respectful and trusting relationships with students and act as a positive role model
- motivate and encourage students to achieve their best and promote self-esteem and independence
- use structured learning activities that cater to different learning styles and adjust activities according to student needs
- support classroom teaching by employing effective learning strategies with individual students and small groups
- prepare and provide basic curriculum resources and materials and support the implementation of education and behaviour plans
About You
- Suitably qualified and experienced in Learning Support
- Valid working with children’s check (WWCC)
- availability on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays is highly desirable.
- posses or be willing to obtain a First Aid Certificate (Apply First Aid HLTAID003) and Anaphylaxis Management Training (ASCIA eLearning VIC or 22300VIC or 10710NAT)
- excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with students and colleagues
- passionate about student and professional learning, with an interest in keeping up-to-date with contemporary teaching theory and its application.
