The Opportunity
To support the continued growth of our company, Bhagwan Marine is seeking a highly motivated individual with excellent attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills to fill a critical position within our Perth based team.
As the Training Coordinator, you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation, delivery, and administration of both internal and external training programs across the business. The successful candidate will have previous experience in coordinating and delivering learning and development frameworks for a diverse employee group in a complex workplace environment.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with department managers to understand their staffing requirements, identify skill gaps and assess training requirements.
- Work with Marine Operations and Subsea teams to determine the training needs on the vessels and work with the Head of HR/IR on a strategy to meet the training needs in line with enterprise agreements.
- Coordinate externally and internally delivered training and inductions as appropriate to the requirements of the position and to meet clients' scope of works & (OVMSA) audits.
- Maintain employee training matrices for project works’, client scopes and Bhagwan Marine functional requirements.
- Use known education principles and stay current on new training methods and techniques.
- Assess instructional effectiveness and determine the impact of training on employee skills and KPIs.
- Work with the HR or Training budget to ensure cost-effective training initiatives.
- Work closely with HR, Operations, and Safety departments to integrate training initiatives into overall organisational development strategies.
- Manage the Company Induction system to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements.
- Ensure all employee training records are kept up to date within Microsoft Dynamics 365 and INX as per Company policies and procedures.
- Build and maintain a training calendar, encompassing both a ‘Mandatory’ and ‘Development’ training schedule.
- Work closely with the QHSE team to ensure all positions are compliant with relevant training and qualifications in line with key statutory requirements defined within the Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental Management Policies and procedures.
- Conform to Company processes and procedures as defined within the Bhagwan Marine – Integrated Management System (IMS).
- Assist the QHSE team and/or Head of HR/IR with employee training-related projects as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Tertiary qualification in Workplace Training and Assessment is essential.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role is essential.
- Ability to positively engage with a diverse range of staff groups, from senior leadership through to operational and project staff and external providers.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Exceptional data entry skills and attention to detail is essential.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and meet deadlines is essential.
