About the role?

The Lecturer will lead unit teaching teams in post-graduate programs to improve the student learning experience and outcomes. The position will initiate, design and conduct productive, high-quality research, scholarship and creative activities generating high impact outputs in their discipline area. The Lecturer may lead and research activities and is expected to engage collaboratively to develop novel research outcomes.

This position is suited to a person with an excellent record and passion for scholarly learning and teaching and a keen interest in exploring and building on new areas of education development and contribution to community engagement through teaching and employability.

As a Lecturer in Medical Science, you will:

  • Coordinate the local delivery of the Medical Science curriculum and assessment at the rural campus, in collaboration with the Medical Science and Curriculum and Student Experience (CaSE) teams across learning campuses, to provide an equitable learning experience for students. 
  • Collaborate with local team members to coordinate the rural campus learning program. 
  • Teach Medical Science, with a focus on anatomy and pathology, to medical students across campuses, at a level consistent with relevant quality assurance principles for teaching and learning. 
  • Collaborate with technical support staff in the planning of technical resources for teaching.  
  • Develop learning environments that are flexible, student centred and accessible, and utilising appropriate technology. 
  • Make a significant contribution to the development and delivery of Indigenous Health learning and assessment activities, in consultation with the School’s Indigenous Health Professional Education Team  

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • PhD in a relevant discipline and/or other relevant qualifications in a relevant health professional discipline
  • Excellent record of scholarly learning and teaching in UG and/or PG programs, including innovative curriculum design
  • Emerging reputation in research and scholarship through publications and/or exhibitions and/or success in obtaining external research funding.
  • Ability to contribute to communities through research.
  • Capacity to contribute to leadership of research and administration.
