Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Neuroscience 

School of Science & Technology

  • Continuing, full-time
  • $104,596 to $123,964 per annum (Level B)
  • $127,836 to $147, 207 (Level C)
  • Plus 17% employer superannuation
  • Salary packaging options are available 
  • Relocation assistance provided
  • 4 weeks annual leave plus Christmas week shutdown, per annum

About the Role

As a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Neuroscience, you will join a collegial and mutually supportive School located within a rural city. The successful applicant will have a demonstrated research record in Clinical Neuroscience, and will contribute to and maintain or improve future ERA ratings by producing high quality publications and other research outputs. It is expected that the successful applicant would have the potential to attract competitive grant funding. A substantial part of the School’s teaching is online, within a supportive pedagogic framework for students. Within this role you will contribute to the future direction of teaching in Clinical Neuroscience, and take a key role in the continued development of the Neuroscience programs. The successful applicant will be expected to make a service contribution to the institution.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Level B

  • A PhD in Clinical Neuroscience or related field
  • An emerging publication record in Clinical Neuroscience or a related field, and ability to attract funding
  • Evidence of effective teaching and curriculum development in Clinical Neuroscience
  • Experience in supervising postgraduate students’ research projects
  • An ability to join an existing research group in Neuroscience
  • Effective academic leadership, outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Preferably, experience in tertiary teaching using flexible modes of delivery.

Level C

  • A PhD in Clinical Neuroscience or related field
  • An Strong publication record in Clinical Neuroscience or a related field, and ability to attract funding
  • Evidence of effective teaching and curriculum development in Clinical Neuroscience
  • Experience in supervising postgraduate and HDR students
  • An ability to lead a research group in Neuroscience
  • Effective academic leadership, outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in tertiary teaching using flexible modes of delivery.

About the School

The School of Science and Technology comprises subject disciplines including Biomedical Science, Chemistry and Physics, Exercise and Sport Science, Mathematics and Statistics and Computer Science. The School conducts teaching and research through an exciting range of undergraduate, honours, and postgraduate courses and research degrees by dissertation within these disciplines. These courses are offered via on campus and flexible online education modes. Additionally, the research performance of a number of our disciplines was assessed at 'well above world standard' in the 2018 ERA ratings for research excellence.

The Neuroscience Group within the Discipline of Biomedical Sciences in the School of Science and Technology currently has an exciting opportunity for an experienced academic staff member with strong research and teaching profiles.
