We are seeking experienced Counselling Lecturers to deliver the Bachelor and Masters of Counselling.

Teaching can be delivered from our Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane Campuses with hybrid and flexible working arrangements including full-time or part-time depending upon your practice requirements.

The Senior Lecturer will enjoy a combination of teaching and academic leadership.

You will be involved in reviewing and developing innovative course and unit materials and providing support and direction to academic staff in these tasks.

  • Foster intellectual curiosity by independently guiding students through tutorials, workshops, placement units, and clinical sessions, immersing them in dynamic learning environments.

  • Innovate teaching methodologies by collaborating with Senior Counselling academic staff to develop and refine course materials, ensuring an engaging and effective learning experience.
  • Contribute to scholarly research projects periodically, enhancing your expertise and advancing knowledge in the Counselling field, while infusing fresh perspectives into your teaching.
  • Embrace a growth mindset by actively reflecting on your teaching methods and utilizing feedback to continually enhance your approach. Engage in ongoing professional development activities to stay updated on evolving teaching techniques.
  • Provide academic leadership to lecturers and educators, offering guidance and support to promote excellence in teaching and learning.
  • Participate in discipline meetings within our lively academic community, where your insights will help shape the future of Counselling education.
  • Empower students on their academic journey by offering valuable guidance on study skills, equipping them with the tools they need to excel in their studies and reach their educational aspirations.

It is essential you can demonstrate:

  • Minimum of 5 years lecturing experience within the Counselling Discipline of a reputable tertiary institute. 
  • Masters of Counselling &/or PhD.
  •  Minimum of 5 years industry practice in the counselling field, showcasing real-world expertise and insights
  • Eligibility for membership of ACA (Australian Counselling Association) or PACFA (Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia) or current membership of APS (Australian Psychological Society) with extensive experience in teaching Counselling units.
  • Demonstrated passion for nurturing and empowering the next generation of counsellors through exceptional teaching and mentorship.
  • A dedicated and proactive approach to advancing your academic career in the field of counselling, embracing opportunities for professional growth.
