Legal & Compliance Officer

The Role:
As Legal & Compliance Officer, you will report to the Head of Legal & Compliance and undertake the following responsibilities:

• Draft, review and amend leasing contracts
• Liaise with external counsel
• Manage the client contracts database
• Interact with clients and brokers regarding contract matters
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations in all aspect of legal work
• Conduct regular compliance reviews and audits to ensure regulatory adherence
• Compliance related reporting as required
• Ensure industry best practice is maintained
• Keep updated in relation to the latest compliance and regulatory changes
• Assist with developing updated compliance training material to present to areas of the business such as risk, audit and operations

Requirements:
To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and personal attributes: 

• Ideally you will have a strong interest in financial service combined with a university degree in law or paralegal studies
• Proven track record in updating contracts and / finance lease agreements
• Demonstrated self-starting initiative, attention to detail, a passion for enhancing stakeholder relationships, and strong organizational skills
• Previous experience working as a paralegal is highly regarded but not essential
