Our client, a leading logistics company is seeking a commercial lawyer to join the legal and governance team in Melbourne. Established over 20 years ago the business has achieved considerable growth and scale nationally and across New Zealand.
Continued strong corporate growth has led to a new position being created for a tenacious commercial Lawyer. The role reports to the General Counsel and Company secretary. This is an exciting opportunity to get on board a progressive brand with significant investor backing and a vibrant culture to help shape growth plans for the legal function and its portfolios including ESG.
Working collaboratively with key stakeholders across the various business units, you will provide predominately commercial, regulatory and governance advice, on key operational objectives and strategic enterprise projects.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Draft, negotiate, prepare, and review a wide range of commercial contracts, policies, and documents
- Assist with M&A activity
- Assist the General Counsel & Company Secretary and Board with corporate governance matters
- Assist with contentious matters
- Manage external law firms
- Provide training to the business from time to time
This role would suit a lawyer with experience in commercial contracts and corporate law and at least 5 years’ PQE from a well-regarded commercial practice or similar in-house environment.
This permanent position can be performed on a part time or full-time basis. This employer promotes a good work life balance.
