The Opportunity 

As an in house Legal Counsel you will work directly with the Group’s Chief Operating & Risk Officer and Chief Legal Counsel to provide legal services across the whole business. 

Qualifications 

• LLB 
• Current practicing certificate 

Key Responsibilities 

• Providing commercial legal advice to the business (NCCP Act, Corporations Act, ASIC Regulatory Guides, Privacy Act); 
• Assisting business executives to implement digital, regulatory or funds management projects and advising on key legal issues;  
• Assisting with corporate governance / company secretary functions; 
• Briefing top tier law firms to advise on complex legal issues and advising the business on the same;   
• Reviewing transactional documents (confidentiality agreements, service and supplier agreements etc.); 
• Legal support for funding transactions (RMBS transactions and institutional warehouses, etc.); 
• Reviewing and advising on marketing, advertising and disclosure documents; 
• Investigating and managing complex customer complaints and disputes.  

About you

• Financial services industry exposure is essential;
• 3 - 5 years+ PAE with a reputable mid-tier- top tier firm and/or in house/some regulator experience (APRA/ASIC);
• Flexibility, adaptability and the ability to work confidently with people at all levels within the business; 
• Manage competing priorities and short deadlines; 
• Have a sound decision-making aptitude;  
• A strong commercial outlook and “team player” attitude; 
• Strong written and oral communication skills; 
• The ability to show initiative.
