This position is suitable for either an early career or well-established Podiatrist looking to develop their high-risk foot clinical skills. You will be well supported by the team and will be provided regular group and individual supervision as part of the role. The role covers all aspects of Podiatry and includes seeing patients for neurovascular assessments (including toe brachial indices on every patient), wound care, Charcot-neuroarthropathy management, critical limb ischemia, general care and nail surgery. You will enjoy an exciting and varied workload, with a high level of clinical complexity.
The team works with multiple specialities both face to face and via telehealth to provide better outcomes for our patients. This position will be well supported by the team of podiatrists, which includes a Level 4 Senior podiatrist and 3 Level 1/2 Podiatrists. You will be introduced to the case load on a graded basis and will be provided on the job support and mentorship as required. This position will have 4 hours quarantined each week for CPD activities and to complete a Quality improvement project for the NECACS podiatry department.

The New England Podiatry service provide Podiatry care to a number of key sites in the New England region with the support of the Royal Flying Doctors Service. The team has a strong commitment to Closing the Gap and, together with their Aboriginal Health Practitioner, received an award for the Healthy Deadly Feet Program. This program was rolled out by the Ministry of Health in 2019 and aims to reduce preventable amputations in the community through providing high risk foot care to patients with acute foot pathologies. Tamworth is one of only two sites in New South Wales who were successful in kicking off the Healthy Deadly Feet Program - we are proud of the part we have played in having a purposeful impact on Aboriginal communities.

This position is suitable for a Podiatrist who enjoys a fast-paced environment. Support and mentorship will allow you to develop your skills in the management of high risk foot complications. This is an ideal position for a New Graduate or any Podiatrist who is looking for experience in rural and regional practice as well as inter-disciplinary care.
Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme
This vacancy is eligible for an Attraction and Relocation package that includes the following*:
- Attraction incentive paid as a Rural and Regional fortnightly allowance of up to $10,000 for the first 12-months
- Retention incentive of up to $5,000 thereafter annually
- PLUS 3 months accommodation assistance (e.g. reimbursement of rent payments or payments for commercial accommodation)
*All payments and reimbursements made to part time employees will be on a pro-rata basis. Attraction incentives will be paid as a Rural and Regional fortnightly allowance on top of your base salary + 11% superannuation.
Other forms of payment/package options (where you are eligible) need to be negotiated with the Convenor and may include**:
- Additional annual professional development days (up to 5 more per year)
- Additional personal leave (up to 5 more per year)
